Professionally, Kate Spiva is the Director of Monica Ros School in Ojai, but her daring hobby is fascinating!

Kate is a Wing Walker, one of 500 brave souls who thrive on the thrill of the wing!

The history of wing walking dates back to 1920s America, when a surplus of airplanes after the First World War encouraged soldiers who had been flying in battle to buy them cheaply and go "barnstorming", the first major form of civil aviation in the history of flight. ‘Come Fly with Me’ was the slogan. Kate will share with us in detail the history of wing walking and her personal experience as a Wing Walker.
